you apply to do this?
Basically,
R.AGE is a free 12 page newspaper for college students. So, I wanted to have
some experience in the print/media industry to have a clearer picture of what I
should do career-wise in the future.

tell us about the nature of work you did, or activities that you participated
in:
I
wrote an average of 2 articles a day ranging from music reviews, press conferences,
interviews, events that are happening, etc.
* Upsides/downsides?
On
busy days, hours can stretch up to 8pm, but the people there are very fun to
work with. If you like writing, then maybe it wont be
that bad for you too. Plus, you get a byline when
your article gets printed!
* Why do
you think UWC students/graduates might enjoy this?
Just
to see if they want a career in the print media.

about the people you worked with and met during your stint.
Well,
there was one other intern there, 4 full time staff and 2 editors that I worked
with. They were all really friendly and would help you along the way.

* How did
you apply to this program?
I
had contacts from an organization that I joined - BRATs
(Bright Roving Annoying Teens). So I already knew the editor of R.AGE, but I'm
pretty sure you can ask the human resources department to slot you in. In fact,
you need not work in R.AGE, you can also get attached
in Metro, newsdesk, StarTwo,
etc. You get paid RM 300 per month, and sometimes, you even need to drive out
for assignments, so really, RM 300 is very measly, but after all, this is only
an internship.
